The 6 best Shopify purchase order apps in 2026
Shopify has no native purchase orders — these six apps fill the gap. Compared on PO workflow, reorder suggestions, supplier management and the two pricing models to avoid.

TL;DR
Shopify still has no native purchase orders — and its own PO app (Stocky) dies on August 31, 2026. For the core job — reorder suggestions you can verify, one-click supplier POs with a clean PDF — our pick is [Solvi Restock](/apps/solvi-restock) (free plan, $19/mo flat). Choose Prediko for AI demand planning, Inventory Planner for enterprise depth, Sumtracker for multi-channel sync, Forstock for one flat price, Fabrikatör if backorder selling is your model.
A purchase order is the simplest document in commerce — what you are buying, from whom, at what cost — and yet the app category around it is a minefield of ERP-grade pricing and metered billing. This comparison is written by the makers of one of the six apps (disclosure above), against criteria you can check on every listing linked below, with competitor facts re-verified quarterly.
What a PO app actually has to do
- Suggest what to order — a PO app without reorder logic is a form; the value is knowing what goes on the order. Bonus points when the suggestion shows its math instead of asking for faith.
- Build the PO fast — from suggestion to editable draft in one action, grouped by supplier, costs pre-filled.
- Produce a document a supplier can act on — a clean PDF with SKUs, quantities, costs and addresses. Suppliers process documents, not portal invitations.
- Track statuses that match reality — draft, sent, partially received, received. Partial deliveries are the norm, not the edge case.
- Price by features, not by your success — the category's two traps are order-volume metering and per-backorder fees; both scale your bill with your sales rather than your usage.

Our verdict
For most Shopify stores the purchase-order job is weekly, supplier-shaped and budget-sensitive — which is exactly the shape of Solvi Restock: reorder list with verifiable math, one-click POs, supplier PDFs, partial-receiving statuses, from free and $19/month flat with no volume metering. The demand-planning platforms above are genuinely better at 12-month buying strategy; they are also 5–15× the price for the Tuesday morning reorder.
Frequently asked questions
Does Shopify have built-in purchase orders?
No. Shopify admin tracks stock levels and transfers, but has no purchase-order creation, no supplier records and no reorder suggestions. Its own PO app, Stocky, was delisted in February 2026 and shuts down August 31, 2026 — purchase orders on Shopify are a third-party app category.
What should a purchase order PDF include?
Your business details, the supplier's details, a PO reference and date, then lines with SKU, item name, quantity, unit cost and line total, plus the order total. Suppliers key these into their own systems — a complete, consistent document gets processed faster and with fewer back-and-forth emails.
What is wrong with per-backorder or order-volume pricing?
Both bill you on outcomes you do not control from inside the app: your sales volume or your stock-outs. A good month (or a bad supply chain) raises your software bill without the app doing anything more. Feature-gated flat plans keep the bill predictable — check the pricing page for these two models before anything else.
Can these apps email purchase orders directly to suppliers?
All six produce a PDF; most, including Solvi Restock, can email it to the supplier from the app or let you download and send it yourself. Suppliers need no account with any of them — the PDF is the interface.
