Terms of use

This website, useful-tooling.com, is published by Useful Tools, an independent software studio. It exists to present the apps we build for Shopify merchants, to host their guides and documentation, and to give you a direct way to reach us. It is an informational site: you cannot buy anything here, create an account here, or upload anything here.

By using the site you accept these terms. They are deliberately short and written in plain English, because we would like you to actually read them. If you do not agree with them, the remedy is simple: do not use the site.

The apps described on this site are installed through the Shopify App Store, not through this website. Your use of any of our apps is governed by that app's own terms and privacy policy, together with the Shopify App Store's terms and Shopify's own policies. All billing for our apps is handled by Shopify through your Shopify account; this website never collects payments.

Nothing on this site changes, extends, or overrides what an app's own terms or the Shopify App Store say. If a page here and an App Store listing ever disagree — for example after a price change we have not yet reflected — the App Store listing is the one that counts.

We put real care into the guides and documentation on this site, and we correct mistakes when we find them or when readers point them out. Even so, we cannot promise the content is always complete, current, or error-free. Shopify changes, printers and browsers change, and a step that was accurate when written can become outdated.

The guides are practical advice, not professional consulting. Before relying on any instruction for something important, test it against your own store and your own hardware first — that is what we do too.

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". In plain terms: we take real care with it, but we make no guarantees that the site will always be online, that every link will work, or that the content fits your particular situation.

To the extent the law allows it, Useful Tools is not liable for losses or damages that result from using this website or from relying on its content — for example, a misprinted batch of labels after following a guide with hardware we could not test. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

The content of this site — text, guides, images, and the Useful Tools name and logo — belongs to Useful Tools. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote reasonable excerpts with attribution. Please do not republish entire pages or guides without asking us first; we usually say yes.

Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc. We build apps for the Shopify platform, but this site and our studio are not endorsed by or affiliated with Shopify.

This site links to external services such as the Shopify App Store. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content.

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we launch a new app or change how the site works. The date at the top of this page tells you when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
